The Game

Paintball is a team sport where 2 teams are striving to achieve a common Goal. Each Player is given Paintball Gear- Markers, Face masks, chest Guards, Jumpsuits and Paintballs.

Players run across the field shooting their opponents. When a Paintball hits a player the bullet splits open leaving behind a bright Paint splash and the player is eliminated. Paintball is truly and adventurous, adult sport, and is also played as a professional sport in many countries.

What is Paintball?

Paintball is the world’s fastest growing extreme adventure sport. It is a highly action packed & adrenalin pumping sport. It is played in over 30 countries as a professional sport, especially in the US, UK and Australia.

Paintball is a war game that stimulates combat. It involves two teams waging a war against each other to accomplish a given mission. It involves both the physical exertion of moving over various terrains and the mental activity of developing strategies.

Due to its unique ability to offer mental activity of strategy building & team coordination as well as physical exertion, this sport has gained respect across the world as a Corporate training tool. It also encourages problem solving and decision making.
In US, Paintball corporate training is an industry worth US$ 800 million.


Paintball Gear

Paintball guns called Markers are operated through CO2 cylinders which make them quite exciting to play with. And yes, they look and feel like real guns! These power packed markers have a range of 150 ft. The Indian Paintball League demonstrates the usage and functioning of these markers with great detail to ensure that players experience the actual thrill of the game and are comfortable using the equipment.

Paint-ball, which is used as a bullet, is a round, thin-skinned gelatin capsule with bright colored liquid which is nontoxic, non-caustic, water-soluble and biodegradable. It rinses out of clothing and skin with mild soap and water.

Protective Gear:

The Indian Paintball League does not compromise on safety of the players during field play. Therefore it is mandatory to use safety gear while playing. Safety gear includes:

Face masks
Chest Guards
Jumpsuits
Gloves

 
Game Formats:
There are 3 types of gaming formats for PAINTBALL. A description of each format is mentioned below:


Speed Ball /Millennium Format:
The Indian Paintball League adheres to this type of format. Herein each team consists of 5-7 team members. A player has to reach the opposite team’s goal post without getting tagged or hit by the paintball Capture the Flag of the opposite side and ring the Buzzer.
The team that accomplishes this task first wins the game. The game will last for 12-15 minutes.

Indian Paintball League Format:
The Indian Paintball League follows the Millennium format.

X-Ball

The X-Ball competitive paintball game format consists of Five to Seven players per team playing on an open field with boundaries and inflatables. A player is considered out of the game when he is hit or tagged by a paintball. The objective is to capture the opponent's flag, located in the center of the field and carry the flag to the opponent’s side. Each match lasts a few minutes, and the number of matches depends on how many can fit into a 30 minute game. The team with the maximum number of flag hangs or flag captures wins. A time out of 2 mins will intercede each flag hang.

PSP Format:
In this type of format, one of the Team members has to reach the opposite team’s goal post without getting tagged by the paintball and Capture the Flag of the opposite side and carry the flag back to their own base. The team that accomplishes this task FIRST wins the game.

Score Criteria

   1 point allotted for a tag or a hit
   3 points allotted for capturing the flag/Flag hang and hitting the buzzer.

Penalties:

   1. Playing-on in the game even after declared out by the referee/ marshal or disobeying        directions will result in elimination of the player as well as another member of his/her team        for 2 mins.
   2. Deliberate removal of paint by the player will result in elimination of the player and 2        additional members from his team for 2 mins.
   3. 3 points will be penalized for shooting at referee intentionally and using verbal or physical        abuse on the opposition team.

A Player Shooting another from behind will be given a penalty.

SAFETY RULES:
   1. Never remove the Face mask during and after the game while inside the Paintball Zone
   2. If a player approaches the opponent from behind, he/she have to say “YOU DEAD” instead        shooting him/her from close range. In case a player shoots from a dangerous close range,        he will be penalized or disqualified.
   3. Markers have to be always in safe mode when game is not on


GENERAL RULES:
   • 3-4 Referees will be in the field.
   • Paintball has to split open after the hitting the opponent to declare him out.
   • If the paintball hits at the marker, or any part of the player including shoes, you are      considered out.
   • If a Player comes from the back of another player ( He says you dead) ,if he shoots then      there is a Penalty.
